NRP Group Opens Second Multifamily at Brooks

The NRP Group and Brooks partnership recently announced the grand opening of The Kennedy at Brooks multi-family community, a $39.1 million development at Brooks on San Antonio’s South Side. The 306-unit community, featuring one and two bedroom apartments, is located on 12.53 acres within Brooks, the thriving mixed-use community development formerly known as Brooks City-Base and Brooks Air Force Base. The Kennedy, the second NRP development at Brooks, was inspired by the success of their first property, The Landings at Brooks.

“It’s a project where we have taken a fresh approach to the design and development process while sourcing new talent in an effort to bring something unique to the market,” said Dan Markson, NRP’s senior vice president of development, in a news release.

The NRP Group used a multi-faceted approach to the planning, design, and management of the property known as “placemaking.” This approach uses the community of an area as the inspiration and creates a space that promotes people’s happiness, health, and overall well-being, NRP representatives explained in the press release. The Kennedy enriches the already vibrant neighborhood at Brooks, adjacent to The Greenline – a 43-acre park soon to be finished with trails for hiking and biking, a play structure, a food truck court, WiFi and an outdoor game area.

The Kennedy also features a collection of works by local artists that reflect the area’s storied history — the heritage of the former military base, the culture of the South Side, the influence of President Kennedy on the base’s aerospace/aeromedicine exploration. “The Kennedy development is occurring at an ideal time,” said Michelle Krupa, Brooks board vice chair, in the release. “The apartment community is in an exceptional location, near the medical school and the Greenline, that allows residents the opportunity to love where they learn, work, and play. It’s exciting residents can flourish at Brooks.”

Minutes from the University of Incarnate Word’s School of Osteopathic Medicine, the apartment community has a contemporary exterior design with plenty of amenities. Offering standard and premium design selections, each unit includes interior finishes such as granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, laminate and tile flooring. Other features include a resort-worthy pool with sun-deck and hammocks; clubroom with HDTV/free WiFi; business center, conference room with HDTV and teleconferencing capabilities; two dog parks and a state-of-the-art fitness center.
